We design, build and run compressed biogas plants.

PRES supports CBG projects across their whole life: design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and long-term operation. Our aim is simple. Every plant we touch should work on day one and keep working for decades.

What we do

One partner from first study to steady operation

Developers can hire us for a single scope or the whole project. The services follow the order a plant is built in.

Design consultancy

  • Feedstock characterisation and assessment
  • Process design and basic engineering
  • Cost estimates, financial models and DPRs
  • Safety, risk and HAZOP studies
2 · SOURCE

Equipment sourcing

  • Selection of proven European and Indian equipment
  • Feeders, mixers, pumps and gas upgrading
  • Vendor evaluation and inspection
  • Supply through HRG's office in Germany
3 · BUILD

4 · OPERATE

Operations & maintenance

  • Plant operation and biological process control
  • Preventive maintenance and spares
  • Plant health assessments
  • Repairs and restarts of stalled plants

Need help with permissions and approvals as well? We support compliance filings and applications for central financial assistance.

Who we are

Indian execution strength, German biogas know-how

CBG plants fail for two reasons: weak process design or weak execution on the ground. The two partners in PRES each cover one of them.

Pilot project

12 TPD pressmud CBG plant, Bijnor

Our pilot runs on pressmud, the filter cake left over from sugar mills. It is a difficult feedstock: fibrous, gritty and high in sulphur. We chose equipment and process steps that handle it reliably.

Pressmud goes through solid feeders and PCP pumps into CSTR digesters. Raw biogas goes to water scrubbing, which produces CBG and a biogenic CO2 stream. Digestate leaves the digesters for manure. Pressmud no water added Solid feeder + PCP pumps pre-mix system CSTR digester external-drive mixers biogas Water scrubbing H₂S up to 10,000 ppm CH₄ loss <3% CBG to 99% CH₄ biogenic CO₂ Digestate → organic manure
Feed system
Schmidberger solid feedersImported feeders coupled with high-capacity PCP pumps, in our own design based on the proven pre-mix system.
Water use
Zero water additionThe feed arrives already homogenised. Gas yield goes up and the mixing load inside the digester goes down.
Digesters
CSTR, time-testedContinuously stirred tanks designed for even mixing and minimal dead zones.
Mixing
European mixersGears and motors sit outside the digester, so maintenance needs no shutdown or tank entry.
Upgrading
Under 3% methane lossWater scrubbing delivers up to 99% methane content.
Hydrogen sulphide
Up to 10,000 ppmHandles the high sulphur load that pressmud produces.
Carbon dioxide
Biogenic CO₂ captureThe plant can capture CO₂ from the gas stream as a second product.
Turndown
25% to 120%of rated capacity, for seasonal feedstock and planned maintenance.
Controls
Highly automatedAutomation cuts the scope for operator error.
